Friends, do you know about the origin of Sri Dakshinkalimai (Mandir) Temple and its religious legend. But if you don't know, come on, I'll talk about it today.
The Glory and Origin of Shri Dakshinkalimai. According to the study of various languages, inscriptions and copperplates, Shri Dakshinkalimai (Mandir) Temple was established by King Pratap Malla. When King Pratap Malla did not pay attention to the knowledge he had received in his dream, he entered Sri Dakshinkalimai Kumari Kanya and directly ordered her to make me an idol and establish her. It will bring prosperity and deliverance from the plague. That is mentioned in the inscription.
After that, Pratap Malla started making his idol and according to that, the king installed the idol in Mohan Chowk of his palace. After that, when the king showed the idol to Nitya Singh Lambhakarna Bhatt, a master of Tantric studies, he said that the idol originated in ancient times. The residence of Shri Dakshinkalimai and his gangs in the upper Nagarcho Chumko of Gorakhnath Nihun Parbat, near Shikharapur, i.e. Pharping, was like a Pintha.
Then Khadbhuja, Chamunda advised to build a statue with two eyes instead of three. When the idol was ready, it was installed on the advice of King Pratap Malla, Minister Bhim Malla and Guru at the confluence of the river near Shikharapura in the south corner of Kantipur.
The temple of Kali Devi is located about 22 kilometer south of the capital Kathmandu valley. This is a temple full of historical significance. This temple is adorned with greenery on all four sides and is situated at the confluence of two rivers. A part from the idol of Kalika, there are idols of other Deities in this temple. There is also Asta Matrika Vihar of Shri Dakshinkalimai in that place. She is worshiped as the mother of Sri Dakshinkalimai.
After that, King Grivanyuddha Bir Bikram Shahdev, the King of Nepal, placed the land in the Pharping area at 504 Muri Khet Rajgunthi for the daily worship and Maha Puja of Shri Dakshinkalimai Temple. Maha-puja is being conducted. Earlier in this temple, some cracks were seen on the face of the goddess as coconut was cracked in her mouth. Maha-puja is performed here twice a year. It is customary to worship here on the days of Baishakh Krishna Triodashi and Bhadra Krishna Astami. In the reign of King Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shahdev, the king of Shah dynasty, was inaugurated in the year 2007 BS by naming Ishwari Marg and establishing a highway from Kathmandu to Pharping. In the time of Shri 5 Mahendra Bir Bikram Shahdev, the work of printing the steps of Kolodhunga from the top to the bottom of the temple was completed for the convenience of the visitors.
During the reign of King Shri 5 Birendra Bir Bikram Shahdev, marble was printed in the precincts of Shri Dakshinkalimai. It is not only a temple but also a very beautiful and entertaining place for picnics. The royal family also used to come here every year in Baishakh to celebrate Diwali. It enjoys a quiet atmosphere. There is ample potential for tourism business to flourish in this place. Millions of devotees visit this temple every year to fulfill their aspirations.
Basically, a special fair is held in this place during Dashain. On Navaratri of Dashain, many devotees offer ducks, chickens, calves and goats. This temple is very rich from religious and cultural point of view. According to a legend, the Tantrics of Nepal brought the goddess from India to Nepal and established her as an idol here.
